How to Beat Gondul the Valkyrie in God of War
If you want to defeat Gondul the Valkyrie in God of War, you will have to first make your way to the top of Muspelheim Mountain and take down all the enemies in your path. Gondul is considered one of the harder bosses to beat, so you should always come prepared before you go in to take her down.

Before entering the arena, make sure that your Runic Attack meter is full. Starting the fight with back-to-back Runic Attacks will put you at an advantage when they are at their most vulnerable. It will also help take out a huge chunk of her health in the beginning.
Also, keep a close eye on your Spartan Rage meter and make sure it’s full. You can inflict massive amounts of damage and heal at the same time. A Resurrection Stone is also needed before entering the arena, as using it in Kratos’ last moments will help Atreus revive him.
Gondul the Valkyrie: Attacks and Strategies
- Fire from the Sky
Gondul will summon fire from the sky on three specified spots, you will have to quickly get out of those areas.
- Smoky Knives
She will then throw down knife-like smoky projections from the flap of her wings. She can do this same attack two or three times in a row, so be prepared to block them.
- Stab
When you see her come at you to stab you, get out of the way, as this attack cannot be blocked.
- Staff Spins
Gondul will spin her staff around twice. Dodge it continuously to escape her Area of Attack.
- Staff Explosion
Gondul will leap into the air and twirl her staff, and if you try to get away, she will create an explosion. To stop her, shoot her down with arrows when she’s up in the air.
- Jump and Stomp
She will jump into the air and disappear off-screen, only to be found landing on Kratos and dealing incredible damage. Keep rolling once she’s in the air to avoid having contact with her, and keep an eye on the ground, as it will ignite while she’s in flight. Attack her when she’s on the ground and vulnerable.
- Wing Attacks
She will use her wings to attack as she will keep coming towards you with her shoulders dipped and her wings outstretched. She will also twirl in place, hitting you with her wings. These attacks can be blocked.
Once Gondul the Valkyrie is successfully defeated, you will receive the following items.
- Gondul’s Helmet
- Asgardian steel
- Perfect Asgardian steel
- Leviathan’s Eye
- The Raging Inferno of Muspelheim
- Gauntlets of the Valkyrie.
You will also find two chests in the area that you can open. Once you open the chests you will receive:
- Greater Crests of Flame (x3)
- Crest of Surtr (x1)
- Hacksilver
- Smoldering Ember (x30)
- Crests of Flame (x12)
