How to Use Runic Attacks in God of War
Equipping runes on weapons gives them an added boost in power. Each weapon has two runic slots, one for light attacks and the second slot for heavy attacks. You can level up the Runic Attacks to increase the damage and effectiveness.
Using Runic Attacks will help you with increased damage, stun, and elemental damage. The only limit to Runic Attacks is cooldowns. Here we will see how to use Runic Attacks in God of War.

Once you have your runes equipped on your weapon of choice, hold down the L1 button then subsequently press R1 for a light attack, or R2 if you want to deal with a heavy attack. Each Runic Attack has a variety of effects.
To equip the Runic Attack for your weapon of choice, just go to the weapons menu, choose your weapon and select the rune you wish to place, one for light damage and one for heavy damage. Runic Attacks can be placed on both Kratos’ and well Atreus’ weapons.
