Genshin Impact was supposed to roll out a feature by which we could delete voice-overs of voice lines from previous quests to reduce the storage size of the game, which is getting increasingly large and is expected to grow even larger with further updates. The Patch Notes for Version 3.0 reveal that this feature is getting added to the new update.
Reduced Game Size of Genshin Impact in Version 3.0
Genshin Impact, with its latest Version 3.0, is going to allow its players to delete content from previously completed quests to reduce the size of the game. These will include the NPC voice lines and voice-overs and also items gathered from previous quests that are of no use now.
Veteran and late-game players will be happy with this announcement as this will finally allow them to reduce the game size by a sizeable chunk, thus freeing up their storage spaces. This move will be especially welcome by mobile players who have limited storage on their mobiles.
We’re still not sure as to what extent it will allow us to delete previous content, but we can expect to be able to choose which ones to delete and which ones to keep. Some rumors suggest that the content will be divided by their regions- Mondstadt, Liyue, and Inazuma to make categorization easier.
Genshin Impact has been infamous for the amount of storage it consumes to the point that players that choose to play it can hardly keep other games comfortably on their devices. While PC players can easily overcome this problem with access to expandable storage, mobile players cannot. Many mobile devices already have forgone the expandable sd-card slot, which means that storage is limited no matter how big it is. Thus, options to reduce game size are always welcome by the community.
