You can also completely uninstall the driver using any third-party tool and install the new updated driver fresh. Ideally, you would want to perform a clean install.
Fix 2: Disable the Antivirus and Reinstall the Game
If the game is crashing or not launching on Windows, it could be the antivirus or the Windows Virus and threat protection blocking some files of the game and interruption during the install process. So, first disable the antivirus you have installed and disable the Windows Virus and threat protection. Then, restart the system and reinstall the game. Check if the game work without errors.
Fix 3: Set Exclusion on Windows Virus & Threat Protection
Even when the game is working, you cannot have the security software disabled and enabling it can again cause issues. Therefore, set an exclusion on the software for Risk of Rain 2. Here are the steps for various software.

Fix 4: Ensure Game Uses Dedicated Graphics Card
Risk of Rain 2 crashing on startup or not launching can be caused when the game is not using the dedicated GPU. Players on laptop or those who have two graphics card on their system encounter this issue. To fix the issue, ensure that the game uses the dedicated or the best graphics card on the system. For Nvidia user, open the NVIDIA Control panel > 3D Settings > Manage 3D settings > Program Settings > Select the program – Risk of Rain 2 > select High-performance NVIDIA processor. Click Apply to save the changes and exit. AMD users can do the same through the Radeon Settings.
