In FIFA 23, players can experience what it feels like to manage a team or play as an individual player. Depending on whether you’re playing Manager Career Mode or Player Career Mode, you may either use an existing character or create your own. In both modes, there are plenty of new additions. Still, two, in particular, stand out – the Personality System and FUT Draft Pick – which help bridge realism between the game and reality with every decision made affecting how your career turns out in FIFA 23.
In this guide, we’ll discuss the player career personality in FIFA 23.

What is Player Career Personality?
Player Career Personality consists of different player attributes and characteristics throughout their career. The way your player develops depends on the actions you choose for them. Their personality will change depending on whether they show determination or aggression on the field and how they interact with other people off it.
Three types of personalities can be chosen for this game:
- Maverick
- Heartbeat
- Virtuoso
Maverick
The Mavericks are those players who care about personal goals and achievement over anything else. Along with this, these players have a penchant for leading lavish lives. A Maverick personality player will have an ambitious and individualistic career in FIFA 23; Ronaldo or Mbappe would be examples of such people.
Heartbeat
These are top-notch team players who play entirely for their teams’ achievements, not caring about individual fame. They influence their teammates with creativity, grit, and determination. And they’re never afraid to give it everything they’ve got if it means helping out someone else on the squad. A prime example would be footballers like N’Golo Kanté or Sadio Mané.
Virtuoso
A virtuoso player is someone who uses their skills and intelligence to influence the game. They have ambition but don’t show it as a maverick does. They also can change the game by adding their own style or flairs like Kevin De Bruyne or Karim Benzema.
In the FUT mode of FIFA 23, you are given many different choices to make away from the pitch involving things such as Investments, Shopping, and Choices. For instance, there are opportunities for Investment in Cloth Branding or Microfinance – among other options. You can also choose to undertake Decisions like visiting an injured teammate at the hospital or reading a book by a club legend – they all reward you with certain Personality type points that unlock skills on your player card when they meet certain criteria.
