Genshin Impact Patch Notes for Update 2.8 revealed some much-needed enemy nerfs. All players agree that the difficulty of mobs in Inazuma was much higher than in the other regions of the current map. Inazuma and Enkanomiya had some of the hardest and tankiest mobs in the game- to the point that fighting them felt like fighting Ruin Guards or Ruin Hunters for some players.
Genshin Impact Enemies Nerfed in Version 2.8
Genshin’s hardest mobs used to be simple hilichurls with a few leading mitachurls and a few supporting samachurls and maybe an abyss mage or two. In Inazuma, mobs have more variety- which means more attack patterns. In addition to hilichurls, mitachurls, samachurls and abyss mages, we had the Kairagis and Nobushis, Mirror Maidens, Fatui Cryo Cicin Mages, and the most annoying of them all- the specters.
All of these had high hp which means they were very tanky- some of them even had extremely powerful attacks- enough to take down a character in 2-3 clean hits. This was difficult for casual players and beginners who’d hopped into Inazuma with their starter characters. Exploration of the land itself became dangerous and threatening.
With version 2.8, thankfully, some of these mobs are getting nerfed:
Specters
These floating elemental mobs aren’t difficult to defeat by any means- they are just annoying as they can keep out of reach from our melee characters and have an unusually high hp. In 2.8, their hp is reduced along with their resistance to interruption. Their fury meter which filled up when hit by strong attacks now fills up by using a percentage of their hp.
Additionally, they can now be affected by the pulling or grouping effect of Anemo when they are not in their Enraged (expanded) state. This also means they’ll be made susceptible to stun and stagger when hit by heavy attacks. They will also have reduced attack in world levels 3-6.
Nobushi and Kairagi Samurais
These Samurais now have reduced attack in Version 2.8 in world levels 3-6. New players and casual players don’t have to worry about getting one or two-shot by these mobs anymore.
Rifthounds
Rifthounds will now be properly susceptible to stagger and stun from claymore characters. The Genshin devs say that their performance after being hit will be “optimised”.
The biggest and most welcome of these are the new nerfs to the specters as we all know how annoying they can be when they float up and away from the reach of our melee characters. Players can look forward to farming them with their Anemo units instead of dreading the grind.
