RPG Elden Ring lets players collect an abundance of weapons to defeat enemies and slash their way through the map. Find out how to check the stats of your shiny new weapon and what they mean in this guide.
What are Weapon Stats in Elden Ring
There are a lot of different weapon types in Elden Ring, and it might be difficult to keep up with them all. You can view the stats of the weapons that you have, as well as click on the stat to find out more about it.

There are six weapon categories that you can learn more about which are detailed below.
Weight
The weight of your weapons affects your movement and roll speed, and a heavy weapon means that your attack speed will be slower, making chain attacks more challenging. In addition to this, if you’re carrying above a certain threshold of weight in your inventory, it will slow down your movement speed and make sprinting a tougher task.
Attack Power
Attack Power refers to how much damage will be dealt by your weapon, and the type beside it means the type of damage it is. Some enemies are vulnerable to certain types of damage while others are resistant, so make sure to know which ones to use. There are weapons that deal more than one type of damage such as Physical and elemental damage, and these can be clubbed together to create a more powerful attack.
Guarded Damage Negation
This stat is mainly for shields or any weapon that you use to shield yourself with, and shows you how much damage will be blocked if you guard with his item. Two-handed weapons can also be blocked with, and they will have this stat. Some shields will have 100% Physical Damage stat—and if you’re a melee player, this is the type of shield you should be looking for in the game.
Attribute Scaling
The Attribute Scaling ranges from A to E—with A being high and E being low—and tells you how well the weapon will perform if used according to its mentioned Scaling with respect to damage dealt. If the Strength Scaling is high, it means that the weapon will perform well as a melee weapon and deal Physical Damage. If the Faith Scaling is high, it means that the weapon should be used for incantations.
Attributes Required
Attributes Required are simply the things you need to use the weapon, or the requirements that you should have to wield it. Sometimes when you get a powerful weapon, you might be disappointed that you cannot use it—this is because your character levels aren’t high enough. Check out this section to see if your character can wield the weapon and work on improving those stats if they can’t.
Passive Effects
Some weapons, especially the powerful ones, have passive effects which are of many types. What the effect does is mentioned in the description of the stats, and it’s a good idea to look at these along with the general damage stats of the weapon to decide which ones you’d like to use and which to discard.
