This quest will appear in your log at random while exploring Vermund capital. You will get the indication from your pawns or a random NPC, who will mention that you are being followed. You might notice a strange hooded person trailing close to you, but if you get close to them they will flee. There are two ways to tackle this issue and grab him. You can set chase, then press the grab button when you get close to them. Or just walk around and wait for them to come to you, then chase them down and grab them. Since this is a time sensitive quest, you need to know which way you wish to chase him. If you let him come to you and attack you, you might miss out on certain choices you can make. Once you capture him, you will learn that his name is Bermudo, and you will have a choice to make about his circumstances

  • Let him go – Accept the bribe of 5,000 gold and he will run free
  • Turn him in – Refuse the bribe and defeat him in battle. You will get 4,000 gold from Captain Brant

As for which option is best, it is better to refuse his bribe and capture him. Doing this will alter your playthrough along the way to provide a favorable outcome
