Bethesda Studios is unveiling the biggest Starfield update yet for Steam, with over a 100 fixes and improvements to be expected. The update is scheduled for January 17th, 2024, but is available for players who opted for the Beta first. The ones who didn’t can expect the patch to land two weeks later. Players have been expecting a big update to improve the Starfield gameplay experience for a long time now, and Bethesda has finally answered everyone’s prayers
In a lengthy tweet on X, Bethesda broke down all the improvements and fixes that players can expect after the patch update for Starfield. Below are some of the features that will be added or fixed after the Starfield patch is released.
- The patch fix focuses on Quest improvements. Issues pertaining to Eye of the Storm like unable to dock or disabling data transfer, and issues with Into the Unknown Temples not appearing, will see updated fixes.
- Players will face increased stability improvements, especially when it comes to graphics. There will be improved textures, shadows and lighting, as well as additional widescreen support. Included are the before and after pictures below for comparison
- Besides the above, players can also experience fixes for asteroids that follow ships and fixes on inaccessible ship hatches. Also there are graphical improvements on planet shadow rings and sun disk geometry. Objects will reappear on an Outpost post bulldozing.
