Team compositions are of utmost importance in the expansive world of Genshin Impact, playing a crucial role in maximizing a player’s potential and overcoming challenging encounters. Building a well-balanced team involves strategically selecting characters with complementary elemental abilities, synergistic skills, and diverse roles. Each character brings unique strengths and playstyles to the table, whether it be DPS (damage per second), support, healing, or crowd control. By synergizing elemental reactions such as Vaporize, Melt, Superconduct, and more, teams can unleash devastating combos that amplify damage output and provide strategic advantages against enemies.
Since Ganyu is currently on her rerun banner in Version 3.6, and since Ganyu has gained a new team comp since Dendro released even though Cryo doesn’t react with Dendro, we thought it would be a good idea to discuss her latest, most popular team comps.
Ganyu’s Best Team Comps in Genshin Impact 3.6
Ganyu has four prevalent team comps in Genshin Impact, namely- Freeze, Melt, Mono and Fridge and while Freeze, Melt and Mono are mainly dominant, Fridge has also seen recent popularity due to the dominance of the Dendro meta and Dendro team comps.
Freeze
A Freeze comp resigns Ganyu to the support role where she acts as both the sub-DPS with her Elemental Burst and as an enemy grouper with her E skill that taunts opponents.
There is a cornucopia of options for her Hydro and Cryo teammates and thankfully a majority of them also contribute to the survivability of the team. Diona and Qiqi are her best defensive Cryo options with Diona also providing a valuable shield in addition to her healing. On the Hydro side of things, Kokomi and Barbara are staple healers with Kokomi taking the edge due to her AoE Hydro application. Xinqiu is another great ally since he also provides a bit of healing and interruption resistance in addition to damage from his Burst and Skill.
If you want more DPS instead, Ayaka can be another powerful Cryo DPS ally to Ganyu considering how both of them are two of the strongest DPS in the game even today. For Hydro options you can comfortably pick units like Ayato, Childe and Yelan depending on your Freeze playstyle and main DPS.
Melt
Melt Ganyu is the most preferred and ideal playstyle for Ganyu making full use of her whole kit- especially her nuke-like Charged Attacks. For a Melt Ganyu her best Pyro teammates will be Bennett and Xiangling with Bennett also contributing to the survivability of the team with his insane healing. Since you’ll be using Charged Attacks for the most part and your Ganyu will be on-field- you will definitely need a shielder. We recommend Zhongli for his unbreakable shield and elemental shred or Diona for the Cryo Resonance and extra 15% CRIT Rate.
Mono
A mono Cryo team comp consists primarily of Cryo characters with Shenhe as the primary staple to buff other Cryo DPS’ on the team. A mono Cryo team has no F2P alternative as it usually requires Shenhe and usually comprises of Ganyu, Ayaka and Diona as other members. You can also swap out Diona for Qiqi if you’re good at dodging and need more healing than a shield. You can also use Zhongli if you feel Diona’s shield isn’t cutting it.
Fridge
Fridge is a comparatively new comp where you just insert Ganyu into a Bloom team. An ideal Fridge team would then compose of Ganyu, an off-field Dendro driver like Nahida or the Dendro Traveler, a Hydro on-field driver like Ayato or Childe and the fourth slot should ideally be a shielder like Zhongli or an Anemo unit to shred and group enemies like Kazuha, Venti or Sucrose.
