Escoffier has earned a pretty good reputation with the “Demon Chef” title. Still, despite the frightening name, friends of hers vouch that she’s actually a sweetheart, fiercely dedicated to her work, which happens to be cooking and, well, battling.
In combat, Escoffier is a Cryo character who excels at using off-field damage while stripping enemies of their resistance to Cryo and Hydro. The more Cryo and Hydro teammates you have along with her, the more powerful this debuff gets, up to a staggering 55% shred of resistance. That alone makes her a total boss in Freeze teams.

Escoffier’s Build in Genshin Impact: An Overview
Her kit is straightforward but incredibly effective, particularly with the right team:
- Elemental Skill: When activated, it does a bit of AoE Cryo damage and summons a floating cooking pot that follows your active character, hitting nearby enemies every second. The best part? It stays on the field longer than its cooldown, so you’ve got 100% uptime.
- Elemental Burst: She does just the same thing as her skill, but with the added healing mixed in. Immediately heals your entire party based on her ATK and heals the character being controlled for nine seconds afterwards.
- Signature Passive: Immersed in Inspiration Seasoning: This is where she shines. For every Cryo or Hydro character in your group, enemies hit by her Skill or Burst become vulnerable to them, up to 55% max if your group is all Cryo/Hydro. Even with her alone, you’ll have a base 5% Cryo shred.
When levelling up her, level up her Elemental Skill if you’re playing her as a sub-DPS. If playing her for healing and team support, level up her Burst. She can safely be skipped on upgrading her regular attacks since she does not stay on the field long enough to do so.
(Side Note: Use her rotation like, Lightning-quick—just throw her Skill down, get off her Burst, and swap her out. Zero field time, max damage.)

Best Artifacts for Escoffier
Golden Troupe Set
When building Escoffier for off-field damage, and you should, the Golden Troupe set is a great choice. The set gives a whopping 70% bonus to Elemental Skill DMG, and that’s where most of Escoffier’s damage comes from. For her substats, maintain the classic formula:
- Timepiece: ATK%
- Goblet: Cryo DMG Bonus (or ATK% if you want more healing)
- Circlet: Crit Rate or Crit DMG, depending on team composition and your weapon
She doesn’t need Energy Recharge because her kit has uptime, so don’t hold back and go all the way on ATK%, Crit, and Cryo stats.
Noblesse Oblige Set
If you do want to force her Burst damage or teambuff, Noblesse Oblige is also a good option. It boosts her Elemental Burst damage and provides you with a team buff ATK boost. And if you’re running a classic Freeze build, Blizzard Strayer also happens to work, especially when you’re constantly layering Cryo with Hydro assistance.

Best Weapons for Escoffier
Symphonist of Scents
This is Escoffier’s staple polearm and overall best-in-slot. It has a high Crit DMG bonus and a passive that boosts her ATK% and heals an ally. It’s crafted with her kit in mind, enhancing her off-field damage and support potential.
Primordial Jade Winged-Spear
If you need additional Crit Rate, PJWS is a decent fallback option. It lacks healing boosts like some others, but the overall offensive stats are reasonable and consistent.
Staff of Homa
Homa staff is another excellent choice if you have it. It has strong Crit DMG and a passive that provides her with a little ATK% bonus—ideal for her sub-DPS role.
Calamity Queller
This weapon pairs well with Escoffier’s ATK% requirement. With her Skill active, she gets a big ATK% buff, which heals and deals more. A great pick if you need dual-role flexibility.
Prospector’s Drill
Prospector’s Drill gives decent ATK% and Cryo DMG whenever you Burst or Skill her, so it’s a cheap one but does the job.
Blackcliff Pole
Blackcliff Pole gives Crit DMG, but its passive isn’t really useful for Escoffier unless you’re clearing often. However, it’s a good stat to stick to have.
