After shuffling around the Shadow Cursed land and trying to get a Moonlantern, you will learn that there is a lone Moonlantern in Balthazar’s room in Moonlight Towers. Here we will see how to find Balthazar’s Moonlantern in Baldur’s Gate 3.

As you travel through the Shadow Cursed land with the cultists, you will eventually reach Moonrise Towers. Over here, Disciple Z’rell will tell you about a powerful Moonlantern located in Balthazar’s room. It is the only intact Moonlantern you will find, so you need to pick it up to protect you and your party.
You have to first clear out any enemies lurking inside and on the bridge outside, then check their corpses for the key to Balthazar’s Room. If you couldn’t locate the room key, you need to lock and pick the door to get into the room. Balthazar’s room is located on the first floor, at the end of the right-hand passage. You will find only one door at the end of the passage. Use the key or lockpick to get inside
Once you are in, walk towards the wooden table in the middle of the room. Right beside the table is the Moonlantern. Pick it up to complete the Seek Protection from the Shadow Curse side quest.
