As you explore Sukhothai in Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, you’ll come across the Blessed Pearl quest, filled with puzzles and a dangerous snake. One of the puzzles in the quest has a tricky aspect, and we’re here to help you navigate it.

The Blessed Pearl Quest in Indiana Jones Game

The Blessed Pearl quest begins in Sukhothai, sending you on a journey across the river to a mysterious hidden pyramid. After entering the pyramid through its secret entrance and dealing with the giant snake, you’ll need to solve a straightforward cogwheel puzzle and defeat another giant snake before reaching the Blessed Pearl Game Room.

Solving the Cogwheel Puzzle in Indiana Jones Game

In the Indiana Jones cogwheel puzzle, you’ll be repairing a Khmer mechanism in Sukhothai by adding cogs to both the left and right gear trains to open a hidden gate. Gears and cogs are scattered around, and you’ll need to place them correctly to get everything working. The challenge lies in the fact that you don’t have enough cogs to fix both sides at once, so you’ll need to complete one side first and then dismantle it to use the parts for the other. Here’s a step by step process on how you can do it:

  • In the main chamber, you’ll find four cogs: two small and two large. Additionally, there’s a small cog behind the Left Gear Train on a small ledge. You’ll come across this while investigating the water flow, as it’s located on the platform you need to reach in order to use your whip to yank open the pipe and start the water flow. This gives you a total of three small cogs and two large ones.
  • Make sure to get the water flowing over the wheel behind the Left Gear Train, or you won’t be able to solve that puzzle when the time comes.
  • Solution for the Right Gear Train: The solution for the Right Gear Train in Indiana Jones requires all three small cogs and one large cog to connect the central cog to the one on the right. Once everything is correctly positioned, pulling the lever will cause the two monster statues to drop into the floor. After that, the puzzle is solved, and you can remove the cogs to use on the left side.
  • Solution for the Left Gear Train: This is the solution for the Left Gear Train in Indiana Jones and The Great Circle. You’ll need all the cogs you’ve found—two large and three small—to connect the central cog with the destination cog on the left side. Once correctly positioned, the two monster statues will sink into the floor, signalling that the puzzle is complete. If you haven’t solved the right side yet, you can now remove the cogs to use them there.
  • Opening the Hidden Gate: Once both gear trains are solved and the cog mechanisms are in place, all that’s left is to turn the highlighted wheel. This will open the hidden gate, allowing Indy and Gina to continue and discover what lies beyond.

The Bug in the Blessed Pearl Quest in Indiana Jones Game

A common issue players have encountered in the game is a puzzle-breaking bug. When placing a peg on the stone table, the wall opening may close, preventing you from retrieving any more pegs. Without additional pegs, you won’t be able to unlock the door and progress. The only solution is to restart the last checkpoint and try again. To avoid triggering the bug, make sure to remove all pegs and drop them on the floor before placing them on the stone table.
