All players know by now that the .8 patches are the last patches before a new region drops. Sumeru came out in Version 3.0 which followed Version 2.8 and Inazuma came out in Version 2.0 which followed Version 1.8. The .8 versions are also known for introducing characters and gameplay mechanics from the next regions as a way of soft introduction so that players aren’t overwhelmed by all the new content in the next region.
After the release of Version 3.7, the leakers finally have hold of some concrete information about Version 3.8- though all are still subject to change until the release.
An Overview of Version 3.8 in Genshin Impact
For those who were missing new skins, we will finally get some new ones for Klee and Kaeya. Both of them will be 4-star skins and Kaeya’s will probably be available for free as an event reward. Kaeya will also get his own Hangout series which some players have been looking forward to for quite a while now.
The primary event will be Oceanid-themed and will feature a temporary map similar to the Golden Apple Archipelago. The event will also reward you with a free Layla. According to leakers, the event will feature characters from all the nations we’ve yet been to including perhaps natives of Fontaine since Oceanids are a Fontaine species. Some of the leaked characters that we’ve already met are Jean, Klee, Kaeya, Collei, Eula, Kokomi and Razor.
The Genius Invokation TCG will get three new characters namely- Yanfei, Kazuha and Candace. We hope Candace is more viable here but we’ll keep our fingers crossed.
Sumeru and its tradition with Pokemon-like events continue as we’ll get a Find the Critters event where we can access their POV. Perilous Prospect sounds like the primary battle-event of the patch and we sure hope it’s hardcore. We’re also getting a rerun of Adventurer’s Trials with a few tweaks and maybe a couple of new mini-games.
Finally, Necalevia is likely a quest or event title relating to the Abyss or maybe even Enkanomiya one way or another as no one has any idea what the term means or implies.
As for character banners, according to leaks and speculations, Eula will finally get another rerun alongside Klee. The second half of the patch is said to feature Kokomi and Wanderer. Even though Wanderer is said to have no role in Version 3.8, he’s said to play a significant role in Fontaine.
While it isn’t a lot and we cannot comprehend the scope of it all, it’s still safe to say that there are lots to look forward to in Version 3.8 of Genshin Impact. Which event or character are you most excited to see and experience?
