What Happened to the Divine Beasts in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?
Divine Beasts played very important in the events of The Breath of the Wild. There were 4 Divine beasts and they were built by the ancient Sheikah to seal the Calamity Ganon away. Along with Divine Beasts, Ancient Shrines and Sheikah Towers are also missing in the Tears of the Kingdom. There has been no announcement or information given out by Nintendo but players have many theories on what actually happened to Divine Beasts:
- The first theory is that the Divine Beasts were retracted by Zelda after the defeat of Calamity Ganon. So they didn’t have any purpose left and were scrapped because of it.
- The second theory is that Divine Beasts, Ancient Shrines and Sheikah Towers just went underground as their purpose was over and will remain in their hibernation (sort of)
The main issue is not the disappearance but the no mention of the Divine Beasts from any of the NPC. Divine Beasts were so massive and mechanical yet not even one NPC talked or even hint about them.
As of right now, there is no chance of Divine Beasts making a return in Tears of the Kingdom. But they can always make an appearance in further updates or future versions of the game.
