Will Warzone 2 Support Skill Based Matchmaking?

According to Activision, Warzone 2 is likely to include Skill Based Matchmaking, as they have yet to confirm. During the original Warzone, SBMM (skill-based matchmaking) was used, and so did Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – the sequel will have this controversial feature enabled by default.

Essentially, skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) is designed to create an equal playing field for all gamers. When you’re a new player in the COD series, you’re likely to encounter less competition in lobbies when you start. When you’ve won a few matches, you’re more likely to find better players in your lobby. You will eventually be placed into balanced matches based on enough data by the system so that you can compete against players with similar skill levels.

The SBMM feature is a hotly debated topic. While some players claim that SBMM forces casual players to compete against meta loadouts, others argue that it is only appropriate for ranked playlists. In the end, SBMM will be part of Warzone 2, no matter what you think – and it wasn’t in Warzone 1. In addition, SBMM was also part of Warzone 1, so its presence should not be surprising.

This concludes our guide on the availability of SBMM in Warzone 2. To stay up to date with all the information about the game, be sure to check our other guides.
