Since its release in 2015, Rainbow 6 Siege has come a long way with the help of regular updates and changes in mechanics/gameplay. After the joining of the shooting range in Y7S2 (year 7, season 2), Ubisoft has decided to make changes to the meta of attachment again.
Official Statement by Ubisoft on R6 Siege Bravo Packs Error, Operator, and Main Menu Glitch
Well instead of changing the game for the better, the latest update seems to be responsible for a plethora of new bugs. Some of these have been acknowledged and addressed by the support team at Ubisoft. The Twitter conversation explains the bugs that the R6 siege: Brutal Swarm update brought with it.
Two days back, they updated the thread by addressing more issues they discovered.
But thankfully, it took them another three days to provide us with a hotfix for some of these.
Reports by Players of Rainbow Six Siege
Besides the bugs mentioned in the section above, players have taken to social media to report many more problems that they have been facing ever since the last update. Ubisoft Support has not yet acknowledged these issues, so it is tough to say when they will get patched.
One of the biggest problems is the inconsistency of the pinging system. A player said that they were either unable to ping gadgets, the defuser, shields, and other items, or they sometimes get pinged within a 10m radius. This inability to ping seems like pinging through a camera or even drones. The yellow ping is faulty as well.
Another major issue reported by the players is the connection and network ping. It seems pretty inconsistent, but that could be because of another bug going around simultaneously on the R6 siege. Read more about it by clicking here. It seems to be mainly happening on the consoles (PS4, PS5, and the Xbox consoles) and also resulting in the game crashing now and then. Because of this, players are receiving penalties for abandoning matches. This is very annoying for seriously grinding players and even casual gamers.
There is a huge issue with the HUD. The teams do not show up on the scoreboard. A player noticed that whenever you are on the menu and looking for a match, if the teams are not full yet and a person stops searching for the match, their entire team will have a super buggy Heads-on Display. The white dot that appears on the scope during ADS also stays on the screen. Switching the weapons seems to fix this specific issue. Sometimes the team names will be entirely written in white, and the players will see the HUD as if they are spectating themselves. As noted by the player, the fix to this seems to be to quit the game and reconnect. However, this is a temporary fix. Leaving the match and reconnecting also seems to fix it for that instance. Look at the team names during the map/operator ban phase; if they are in gray, you should reconnect before playing with a bugged HUD.
Many players also reported sound bugs in the game. At times, audio seems to be outright missing from the game. Enemy footsteps cannot be heard, while teammates’ footsteps are loud for some reason. In a Reddit comment, they said, “ Sound issues. For me, the game only has walking, shooting, and explosive (just the boom) sounds. Can’t hear the operator’s voice lines, can’t hear music, can’t hear the narrator. Last time I died to a Thermite charge because I could not hear the detonation. Unplayable.” (source link)
Icar0 from Reddit had a comment on the audio bug as well.
For some players, either their friend list suddenly showed up empty or they were not able to invite or get invited to squads.
Can you Fix Rainbow Six Siege Brutal Swarm Issues
As a player experiencing these bugs, the best you can do is report them at R6Fix (ubi.com) provided by the mod of the Reddit thread on R6 Siege: Brutal Swarm, Known issues. This will help developers quickly locate the bugs, and once they do that, they can start working on them.
Perhaps what is more annoying than these issues themselves to the players is that the Ubisoft support team has only acknowledged two or three minor inconveniences. In contrast, they have not even addressed the problems that are being considered major. It is fair to say that it will take some time for Ubisoft to fix this many issues. But we shall update this article with fixes and news on the update as soon as Ubisoft dishes them out. Be sure to check this article again for that.
