Under the umbrella of the best competitive FPS games in the world, Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Seige has maintained quite a high rank since its release in 2015. Known for its realistic physics and tough learning curve, the environmental destruction feature is perhaps one of the most intuitive features in any esports game.
The devs should also be commended for regularly maintaining the game and dishing out new content from time to time. This keeps things fresh and keeps the players hooked on its fun gameplay. Recently, a new update was rolled out, which was supposed to bring seasonal updates along with new gameplay features. Sadly, it has caused some problems for many R6 Siege players lately. That is okay, as it always happens with many online games. Let us look at some reports by players on the web to understand the issue better.
Rainbow Six Siege High Ping Reported by Players
As the update was made available to the public, reports of high ping started appearing on social media. One of them mentioned how they started experiencing a ping of 700 ms for a couple of seconds. Even the FPS dropped abruptly to 0 when this happened.
Another player took to Twitter to share this problem with the developers and other players.
Peyton from Twitter got a reply from the support team at Ubisoft. Players using the PS4 are experiencing this bug as well. The good news is that in the same conversation, Peyton shared screenshots with the team, which will surely help them locate the bug faster. Here is the conversation:
Another user reported the following.
After players looked into it, this issue seems to stem from a faulty server connection. The game connects you to faraway servers instead of the ones close to you. This is the cause of the high ping and the game crashing after a round or two. This has made some players angry about the bug.
Lenty, close to the NA East server, was thrown off to the NA West server. This issue occurred in the PS5, so the problem is not exclusive to its predecessor (the PS4).
As can be seen from their reactions, the players are having a very terrible gaming experience. In the meantime, Ubisoft support has provided a link to a troubleshooting guide that might help fix this issue for you on the PS5. This is only till they patch the bug from their end.
Official Statement by Ubisoft
The reports were quickly heard and responded to by Ubisoft Support. They have acknowledged the bug and are working on fixing it quickly. Here is their official statement:
Now that the support team is working on a fix, it won’t be long till it rolls out. We shall keep an eye on this issue and will update this article as soon as it gets patched, so check our feed daily. That was it for this article. Thanks for reading.
