Raft is a Survival Game published by Axolot Games and created by Redbeet Interactive. Whether you’re alone or in a company, your objective is to survive an epic oceanic journey over a treacherous sea. Gather trash to survive, construct your raft, and be wary of the sea’s dangers.
Players wake up on a huge, blue ocean with no shore in sight, imprisoned on a little raft with nothing but an old plastic hook. Survival will be difficult with a dry throat and an empty stomach.
Our guide will teach you all about locating the important resource: Sand, for building bricks in the game.

What is Sand used for?
Sand has just two applications in Raft:
- Manufacturing Wet Bricks (which also require Clay)
- Glass (which needs to be put in a Smelter)
Wet Bricks may be converted to Dry Bricks by laying them on the deck of your Raft and waiting a certain amount of time. When the drying process is complete, they will transform into Dry Bricks, which may subsequently be utilised for essential workstations such as the Smelter and Electric Smelter.
Glass, on the other hand, is more adaptable. It may be used to purchase superior resources such as honey or practical tools such as binoculars. You’ll need a Smelter to transform Sand into Glass, so use your first bits of Sand to produce the 6 Dry Bricks required to construct one.
Getting Sand in Raft
Travel to an island and dig it up with a Plastic Hook (or better) in the shallow seas surrounding the island to acquire Sand in Raft. Equip your Plastic Hook and left-click when your cursor is above a Sand deposit to quickly dig it up.
As always, don’t leave your boat unattended unless you have an anchor to hold it in place. Digging up Sand deposits in the shallow seas near an island is the greatest technique to acquire Sand in Raft. Make sure to take rapid dips into the water; the Shark will be on you in no time if you stay too long.
Keep your dives short and your eyes open at all times; the Shark might be swimming right at you before you realise it. To discover more about the game, keep reading our Raft game guidelines.
