20 Minutes Till Dawn is a free-to-play survival game where you will need to combat monsters endlessly for—you guessed it, 20 minutes. This guide will take you through seven tips for beginners that you should know in 20 Minutes Till Dawn.
20 Minutes Till Dawn Tips — 7 Pointers to Win the Game
The game has been released as a beta version called 10 Minutes Till Dawn where players have 10 minutes to kill monsters, but the mechanics are pretty much the same. Here are some things that you should keep in mind about the game.
Avoid Trees
You might think it’s a safe place where enemies can’t see you, but you’re going to regret going too close to the trees. They can attack you for a whole health point if you get close—guess they don’t want their shade trampled on. You can always try to circle around them if you’re trying to escape from an enemy, but it won’t work for larger groups.
Get the Health Upgrades First
There aren’t many health boosts in the game, but this is something you’ll realise only after playing for a while. The game will usually offer you a health boost in the first upgrade, so you should take it before you regret it.
Take Advantage of Exploding Enemies
You’ll be able to recognise the ones that explode on being killed soon enough. The fun thing about them is that their explosion radius will affect your enemies too. This is useful for quickly taking down large clusters of enemies if you can get to the exploding ones first, and perhaps even cause a chain reaction.
Don’t Get Cornered
The game might overwhelm you with enemies, but make sure not to get backed into a tight spot where you can’t move around much. Clear a path for you to walk around so that the enemies can’t push you into the side of the map, or worse, a corner.
Get the Shotgun
Enemies will soon begin to crowd you, and you’re going to start wishing you had a better way of defending yourself. The pistol just isn’t enough sometimes. When you do get the chance to get the shotgun, you should take it. While it might not seem like much at first, once you upgrade it further it becomes a force to be reckoned with.
Don’t Take the Second Miniboss Upgrade
As the first miniboss that you defeat will drop a useful bonus, you might be expecting the second one to do the same for you—but unfortunately, the upgrade is going to be a curse. While some of the stats might be useful to you, the others might make you weaker. Take a look at the upgrades that you can get from the second miniboss, and make sure they fit into your build before you pick them up.

Take the Speed and Ammo Size Upgrades
As the game goes on, you might be wondering which upgrades are right for you. However, these are the two that you literally can’t go wrong with. The more you upgrade your movement speed and ammo size, the greater chances you’ll have of lasting 20 minutes in the game.
