If you’re looking for an item you can use on your weapons to make them more powerful, Fire Grease can help. By coating a weapon with Fire Grease, you can inflict Fire Damage on your enemy and make them burn to take additional damage. The effects last only for a short time, so make sure to use it well.
You can find Fire Grease in various locations around Limgrave in the initial stages of the game, such as in caves like Groveside Cave. there are some other places where you can collect one or two Fire Grease such as the wine cellar of the Stormveil Castle, which you need the Rusty Key to unlock; the platform next to the Stormveil Main Gate Site of Grace; and Castle Morne. You will also find one underneath the bridge on your way to Murkwater Cave. Note that while you can store up to 600 Fire Grease, you can carry only 10 at a time.
Crafting Fire Grease is also possible as long as you have your Crafting Kit and the materials you need which are 1 Root Resin and 1 Smoldering Butterfly. Root Resin can be found at the roots of trees all around Limgrave and the Weeping Peninsula, while Smoldering Butterflies can be seen wandering near wildfires and are dropped by some mobs. You can obtain the recipe for crafting Fire Grease by collecting Armorer’s Cookbook [1].
