Elden Ring was finally released to the public on 25th February. A survival RPG, the game lets players defend the titular Elden Ring and recover all the Great Runes or the broken shards by fighting bosses, and they can do so with the help of the various weapons found across the map. This guide will take you through the process of how to get the Greataxe in Elden Ring.
Where to Find Greataxe in Elden Ring
The Greataxe is a powerful weapon you can obtain early on in Elden Ring in the first region of Limgrave. You’ll have to look for a Caravan being pulled by two Giants, which might be difficult to locate on the vast map, but we’ve got all the details.

The Caravan will also be surrounded by soldiers. There’s a chest inside the Caravan that contains the Greataxe. It is a moving Caravan, which means its location will change on a fixed route. The best chance of finding it is the road that leads southeast from the checkpoint called Agheel Lake North Grace.
As the Caravan is slowly moving, you’ll need to stop it first to get in and open the chest. To achieve this, you need to kill at least one of the giants. This is fairly easy as they’re tied down to the Caravan and cannot move freely to attack you. Ranged attacks will be effortless.
Once you defeat the first giant, the second will surrender. You can kill the other too for some extra Runes. Head to the back of the Caravan to loot it. Make sure to avoid the soldiers who are behind or around the Caravan as they might try to attack you. It’s a good idea to get the items and run for it.
Inside the chest, you will find the Greataxe along with some Runes. Use this weapon to boost your melee characters.
