Ingesting a consumable is the fastest way of regaining your health. This can be done with a Flask of Crimson Tears which will restore some HP immediately, even in the middle of combat. You can also use this while you are on horseback. The only downside is that the number of Flasks o Crimson Tears is limited in the game, but they are replenishable if you can rest at a Site of Grace, or defeat more enemies. They can also be upgraded and increase the amount of HP restored per flask at these Sites.
A Site of Grace can also be used to heal directly. You will also be able to restore your FP and be cured of any ailments if you rest in these places.
Another method to heal is by using spells or incantations. You can acquire the spell of Heal, and if you have chosen the character of Prophet, you will already know the spell and will be able to heal from the beginning of the game.
