Farming Simulator 22 is the latest game to top the Steam charts. It has surpassed the likes of BF2042 and Halo in terms of concurrent players. The game currently has a record of over 100K concurrent players. But, given the multiplayer nature of the game, it relies on the server for a smooth experience. Although a small minority, some users have been reporting the multiplayer not working in Farming Simulator 22.
Over the past 24 hours, the occurrence of the issue where players cannot join a multiplayer session has escalated. The most likely cause for this is a strain on the servers. In the past two days, the number of users playing Farming Simulator 22 has grown substantially and it seems it will continue to grow. The large number of player on the game is straining the servers and causing server crashes.
Unfortunately, there isn’t anything you can do on your end that will resolve the issue. If the issue is in fact with the server capacity, the only fix is for the devs to increase the capacity of the servers. Will the devs increase the server capacity is a question that seems to be raised with all multiplayer and popular titles? But, very few games actually increase the server capacity because the current surge in players is temporary and would normally not last more than a few days.
So, the fix for the issue may be to wait out a few days. But, there is another possibility that the servers are experiencing glitches and it’s causing server disconnect and errors. If that’s the case, you need to wait for a fix from GIANTS Software.
Either way, the Farming Simulator 22 multiplayer not working is an issue out of your control and there is nothing you can do.
However, connection issues also have a possibility of causing similar problems, so the usual fixes must be applied before you blame it on the servers. The fixes include rebooting the game, clearing cache from the network hardware, trying to use the mobile hotspot to play the game, etc.
At the time of writing, there has been no news from the devs about the issue or an ETA on a patch. We will keep an eye on the situation and update the post to reflect any new info on the issue.
