The Playing Hooky Wandering Tale quest in Where Winds Meet is a brief and charming side quest that will take you all over Mohist City in search of three children who seem to have gone missing from school. Although initially it looks like they are playing hooky, you will find out that there is more to it. This guide will tell you how to start the quest, where to find every student, and the rewards you’ll earn after completing it.
Playing Hooky Wandering Tales
To start the Playing Hooky Wandering Tale Quest, you need to go to the little school located in the top part of the Exchange Quarter in Suixiang, Hidden Mountain. To reach it quickly, you should fast travel to the Exchange Quarter Boundary Stone and take the zipline which is close to it.
There you need to talk to Dou Han to activate the quest. He informs you that he has lost three of his pupils. Your task is to look for them. Their names are Little Bud (Hualei), Little Fang (Huya), and Little Mangtou. They are somewhere in Mohist City.
Little Bud
You should first search for Little Bud. Use fast travel to reach the Confluence Gazebo Boundary Stone, and go further from there to the garden located in the northeast area of Mohist City. She will be waiting there for you. Have a conversation with Little Bud; she will ask you to help her with finding a flower. It will be located right above the rock where Little Bud is standing.
Little Fang
Following this, go to the Deepwave Works Boundary Stone where you will find Little Fang. Little Fang can be found crouching down next to a table with a stack of gears on a shelf behind him. Little Fang has lost his important Precision Part and can be located atop the same shelf that contains the gears.
Little Mangtou
Stay around in the area of Deepwave Works and find Little Mangtou. Little Mangtou will need an Artisan Workpiece. Turn away from Little Mangtou, and you will see two NPCs, Niu Er and Qin Buxiu. The workpiece is placed on the table next to the stone slab. Take it and give it to Little Mangtou to go back to Dou Han.
After that, go back to Dou Han’s school and talk to him. You will learn that the kids did not actually play hooky. It turns out that they have been making plans for their teacher. You get these rewards when completing the Playing Hooky Wandering Tale:
