Two of the materials that have a lot of value in the Palworld 1.0 update are Paloxite and Mythical Wood. These materials can be used for crafting end-game weapons, armor, and other useful items, and therefore become very important when you progress through the game to the World Tree. These materials cannot be gathered without a certain item. In this guide, we’ll tell you how to unlock Paloxite and Mythical Wood, the best farming locations, and a few extra ways to gather them more efficiently.
How to Get Paloxite & Mythical Wood
Two important items for crafting some of the best gear and equipment in the endgame phase include Paloxite and Mythical Wood. However, obtaining these is not easy. In order to farm Paloxite or Mythical Wood, you first need to unlock the World Tree by:
- Defeat the boss of Sunreach Tower.
- Continue your storyline missions until you are asked to go to the Foot of the World Tree.
- Finish the questline about Pentalus.
- Go back to the altar of the Foot of the World Tree and activate it to open the World Tree region.
Just by following the main quest, all the steps will be covered. You have to meet the World Tree Guardian after entering the World Tree. The NPC provides you with a quest for which 10 World Tree Holy Water are given. It is really a very important thing because Paloxite and Mythical Wood can’t be obtained without it.
Why You Need World Tree Holy Water
The Paloxite nodes and the Mythical Trees are both protected. If you approach them without using the World Tree Holy Water, they would vanish before anything else. After consuming one Holy Water:
- Your character gains a glowing aura.
- Paloxite deposits stay visible and can be mined.
- Mythical Trees can be chopped normally.
- Once the aura expires, the resources will disappear again.
Because the effect only lasts for a short time, try to gather as many nearby resources as possible before it runs out.
Best Paloxite Farming Locations
The best farming spots are close to fast travel points and contain several Paloxite nodes together.
Dusty Ravine
Coordinates: (-559, 1508)
You’ll find three Paloxite nodes fairly close together.
The best strategy is:
- Drink Holy Water.
- Mine every node first.
- Don’t stop to pick up the drops immediately.
- After breaking all nearby nodes, go back and collect everything.
This lets you make the most of the Holy Water timer.
Remnant Riverside
Coordinates: (-711, 1537)
Another excellent location with three Paloxite deposits grouped together. Since there’s very little travelling between nodes, it’s one of the easiest places to farm efficiently.
North of Gilded City Ruins
Coordinates: (-795, 1466)
This is one of the best overall farming spots. There are multiple Paloxite nodes and several Mythical Trees nearby. You can either mine all the Paloxite deposits, or mix mining with chopping Mythical Trees before your Holy Water runs out.
How to Farm Mythical Wood
Mythical Wood comes from the glowing trees inside the World Tree. The process is exactly the same as Paloxite:
- Drink World Tree Holy Water.
- Chop the trees before the effect expires.
- Without Holy Water, the trees disappear as soon as you get close.
If you find an area with several Mythical Trees close together, you can collect a large amount of wood from a single Holy Water.
Ancient Relic Recycler
If you don’t want to farm resources manually, there’s another great option. Unlock the Ancient Relic Recycler through the Technology menu. This machine lets you recycle Ancient Relics, including:
- Glistening Ancient Relics
- Dormant Ancient Relics
- Decayed Ancient Relics
Recycling them can reward:
- Paloxite
- Mythical Wood
- Ancient Civilization Cores
- Radiant Gems
- Skill Fruits
- Power Fruits
- Stout Fruits
- Implants
- Schematics
It’s one of the easiest passive ways to build up these valuable materials.
World Tree Expedition
After defeating the World Tree Tower Boss, you’ll unlock the World Tree Subterranean City Ruins Expedition. This expedition can reward:
- Paloxite
- Giant Pal Souls
- Ancient Spheres
- Various Ancient Relics
Since those relics can also be recycled into Paloxite and Mythical Wood, running expeditions is another excellent long-term farming method.
