The Iron Skin Ring is a great defensive tool in Gothic 1 Remake that adds a lot of protection against edged and blunt damage. You will have to find this ring around the New Camp and it will be guarded by a number of wolves, but there is a way into this area that will allow you to access it fairly early on in the game by exploring a nearby cave.
Reach the Waterfall Near the New Camp
From the New Camp, go to the mine. Remember, you’ll need to head to the mine using the path beside the Tavern. Keep climbing to the top of the ridge toward the Free Mine area until the waterfall comes into your vision.
Once you’ve reached the waterfall, do not proceed further along the path. You will need to go left, make a carefully controlled jump from the ledge that is close to the wall, land into the water, and swim directly across the opposite side.
Defeat the Wolves
Prepare yourself for battle after you emerge from under the water and you will encounter wolves. There are four wolves that protect the Ring of Iron Skin, one wolf is located in the area ahead, two wolves are located outside the cave, and the last wolf is inside the cave.
Be careful when you take them out; they will most likely over power you if they all come at you together.
Loot the Ring of Iron Skin
When you have taken out all four wolves and have successfully entered the cave, go straight ahead, until you reach a corpse. Loot the body for the Ring of Iron Skin
The Ring of Iron Skin gives you +10 protection from edges and +10 protection from blunt hits. This makes the Ring of Iron Skin a good item for boosting your overall defense.
