One of the cars that you can find as a Barn Find car in Forza Horizon 6 is the Mitsubishi Montero Evolution (1997). It can only be found after discovering the Barn Find rumour related to it from the Discover Japan event. Even though it looks shabby at first, it is actually an impressive car once restored. In this guide, we’ll show you how to unlock the Mitsubishi Montero Evolution in FH6.
How to Unlock the Mitsubishi Montero Evolution

Before driving the Mitsubishi Montero Evolution in Forza Horizon 6, you must first unlock the Barn Find rumour about it. The Barn Find rumour unlocks itself when you receive the Orange Stamp by completing the Discover Japan campaign. After receiving the necessary stamp, you will receive the location where to look for the Barn Find search area on the game map. Go to the area, find the car in the barn, and once restored, you can drive it in the game.
Mitsubishi Montero Evolution, which is from 1997, is located in the Shimanoyama zone. Make sure to go eastwards to find the winding mountain road featuring a few hairpin turns. Drive along that road up to the very top, after which, when you notice that the road starts getting more straightened out, turn towards the east following a dirt path located there. Continue driving on this dirt road until you find the Barn Find location. After you have discovered the vehicle and restored it, you will obtain the Mitsubishi Montero Evolution.
Even though it is old and broken, it has a very retro futuristic design, making it a very good sleeper build upon upgrade. Once you have found this car, it will be taken by the mechanic for restoration. This leaves you with two choices:
- Wait for the restoration to finish naturally while playing the game for free
- Instantly restore the car yourself using credits
The instant repair is very cheap. Once repaired, the Nissan Pao is added to your garage and ready to drive in the game.
