To unlock Infernal Hordes mode, you need to first reach level 50, which will grant you access to World Tier 3. Once you are here, you can unlock the Eyes of the Enemy questline in Hawezar. You can find this area south of Fractured Peaks. After reaching Hawezar, make your way to Zarbinzet and investigate the main plaza area to start the quest. After completion, you will be rewarded with the Infernal Compass. All you have to do now is consume the Infernal Compass from your inventory to start Infernal Hordes mode.

To play Infernal Hordes again, you need to find ways to farm Infernal Compasses. Infernal Compasses are one time use items, and there are some ways to get it

  • Head over to the Occultist and craft them using Sigil Powder and Forgotten Souls
  • Open chests in Helltide using Abberant Cinders
  • Can also be obtained from defeating Doomslayers
  • Open caches at the Tree of Whispers
  • Endgame activities like The Pit and Nightmare Dungeon can also drop high tiered Infernal Compasses

Finding higher tiered Infernal Compasses can help you enter better arenas with better loot drops. There are a total of 8 Tiers you can find of the Infernal Compasses, and you can also attain higher level compasses by upgrading them using Abyssal Scrolls. Tier 1 can be activated in Nightmare, but for the rest you need to be in Torment mode for it to work
