The boss of Gears of War E-Day is called Vraahk, and you will have to battle it in Act 5, Chapter 5 of the game. There are two stages to this battle, during which you have to survive his devastating moves and dodge Imulsion on the ground. Additionally, you will have to protect your allies while doing some damage to the boss to defeat him. Here’s how to prepare for and defeat Vraahk in Gears of War E-Day.
Boss Fight Preparation
Begin the fight by grabbing the Troika gun, which carries 96 shots and is available before the fight starts. When you run out of ammunition, switch to the Gut-Puncher gun, which holds 14 shots and sets Vraahk on fire. Once these shots are gone, start shooting the Prototype Lancer until Vraahk’s health meter empties. In the second phase, ammo boxes will also be available in the arena for the Gut-Puncher gun.
How to Defeat the Vraahk
The lines that Vraahk uses to spread Imulsion on the floor hurt you as long as you stay in their range. Do not stand still and try your best to evade them because they are dangerous. The head of Vraahk is his vulnerable point, so always try and shoot at him there. Headshots hurt Vraahk far more than other parts of his body. For shooting the head, use a long-range weapon, and for the rest, use a mid-range weapon.
Lower Boss HP During First Fight
You will meet the Vraahk during Act 5 Chapter 5 after exiting the control room as you begin the boss fight’s first phase. In the first phase, all you need to do is lower its health to half. As you and your team proceed to the next bridge, after crossing it, Vraahk will reappear with half of its health left. In this phase, you have to completely drain its health and win the boss fight.
Keep Your Distance
The creature can attack you from a distance as well as move up close to hit you using its Imulsion and stabs. You should always try to keep a safe distance from the creature, and move around so as not to be caught by its attacks. Switch between your weapons as and when you see fit. Also keep an eye on any ammo caches as you move around so you don’t get caught in the crossfire empty-handed. The first encounter should be over pretty quickly, after which you can move on to the next location.
Second Boss Encounter
The second boss fight takes place on an open road with numerous wrecked cars, concrete blocks, and sandbags that can provide cover. You will also notice raised walkways on both sides of the road. You can use these obstacles as cover while you deal with Vraahk once again.
As the boss appears on the screen, hide behind the first concrete block on the road and start firing using whatever ammunition for your heavy weapon remains. When your weapons run out of ammo, switch to Gut-Puncher and set Vraahk on fire. Continue firing from cover and move back when the boss comes too close.
The elevated walkways can also be used to shoot Vraahk while standing above it. But do not stay in the same position for a prolonged period because Vraahk may chase you to the elevated walkways. It is important to constantly change your position and hide behind the railings.
Heal and Replenish Ammo
If you run out of Gut-Puncher rounds, search for ammunition boxes scattered across the arena. By the time you run out of Gut-Puncher rounds, Vraahk will have very few health bars remaining. Then switch to Prototype Lancer and continue shooting until Vraahk’s health bar runs out.
In addition to that, keep an eye on your fellow players because you can spot them in case they get knocked down by red icons with their names. If Vraahk gets to them before you do, it’s instant game over. Keep your friends in check and revive them whenever needed while checking out for extra ammo in the process.
