To defeat Marlowe in Hellraiser Revival, you have to focus on his weaknesses, make good use of your ammunition, and utilize the surroundings during the game. The proper weapons and strategic skills will make the process manageable. This guide covers the best weapons to bring, how to handle each stage of the fight, and how to banish Marlowe.
Best Weapons and Preparation
When fighting Marlowe in Hellraiser, the most effective weapons are the shotgun armed with Dragon’s Breath upgrade and AK. Both weapon choices are effective in taking care of Marlowe; however, you should be ready to use many ammunition rounds during the process. If you are not sure about your ammunition supply, consider selling your other weapons and items to have a sufficient amount of ammunition.
Since Marlowe is well-protected due to the giant shell covering his body, the weak exposed points are his weak targets. Make sure you are actively looking for bodies coming out of Marlowe’s back. Whenever you spot one of them, focus on attacking them.
Phase 1: Use the Brazier and Destroy His Weak Points
In the beginning, Marlowe will rush towards you. In this case, you’ll need to run to the side that is to the right side of the brazier. Once you get there, use telekinesis to get the flames and hurl them against him. After he gets hit on, make sure to open fire on the protruding bodies on his back with the AK.
Once all the bodies have been destroyed, use Hell Chains to restrain Marlowe. His armor shell will open and grant you access to shoot at him leading to the reduction of his health. Once the cutscene is over, be ready to fire at the next body as soon as you regain control. Use the AK to destroy it promptly.
Phase 2: Damage Marlowe With Spiked Blocks
In the next stage, Marlowe will face concrete blocks with spikes, which can be removed from the ground with the help of the Puzzle Box. Place yourself in the right position so that Marlowe crashes through the obstacles and injures himself. As soon as he hits the second spike, a body will appear on his back. Destroy it quickly in order to find out his weak points before proceeding to the next stage.
Phase 3: Use the Traps Against Him
Now that the traps are in place, use your telekinetic abilities to pull them towards Marlowe. Once they hit him, damage will be dealt. After the second trap hits, yet another body will appear from his back, allowing you the chance to hit his weak point again. Use your AK to shoot this body, but be sure to save some bullets. Marlowe may run at you in the meantime, so remember to sidestep and avoid his attack.
Phase 4: Drop the Hanging Blocks
At the final stage of the fight, there will be various blocks hanging from the ceiling. Marlowe will try to charge you, and you need to use the Hell Chains to hold him in place. Now that Marlowe is in place, shoot at the chains holding the blocks.
Target the circular links to make them fall on Marlowe and cause massive damage. As soon as Marlowe goes down, aim at the weak spot on his back. After this, look for the next scripted opportunity to use a Hell Chains attack on him when his shell opens.
How To Banish Marlowe
After Marlowe has been defeated, wait to see him fall down to the ground and open his shell. He may still have some health, so be sure to deal additional damage if necessary. As soon as he goes into the banishment mode, use your Puzzle Box in order to banish him to finish the boss battle.
While fighting Marlowe, you should concentrate on destroying his weak spots, conserving your ammo, and taking advantage of the environment to deal more damage to him. Choosing the right time to use your Hell Chains and telekinesis powers will also help you take control over the fight.
