There are three puzzles that you need to solve so that Scylla can be set free. If you follow the length of the chains that are holding her down, it will lead you to three different places. Each area offers a different puzzle to solve, and once you solve them, you can break the chains using a new feature. You need to follow an order to unlock the chains and solve the puzzles.
Chain 1 Location and Puzzle Solution
Follow the chain’s length that leads west. It will lead you to a cave entrance of Portus Anticus. where you can finally walk on the ground. There is a short cutscene, where you can respond to some of the questions the Golems’ Leader asks you. Below are all the answers you should pick
- The Sebastos does not permit
- Yet you are not receiving the melody.
- Phobos’s silence signifies rejection.
If you pick the wrong answer, you have to fight the Golems. After this task is done, you will learn about the Dragon Suppressing Shackles and how to break them. Go up to the pillar ahead, switch to Symphony Mode, then press and hold the Elemental Skill button for a while. If nothing happens, change your position a bit to be directly underneath the pillar or as close to it as possible. Repeat the process to break the first chain, and you will know you are successful if there is a cutscene that follows
Chain 2 Location and Puzzle Solution
You can now go back to Scylla, then head south where the second chain leads you to. There is a battle with the Golems in the area that you need to prepare for. The enemies here are Geo types and they will have Geo shields. Use a character that can counter that and clear the area, after which you can break the chain as done previously
Chain 3 Location and Puzzle Solution
Make your way towards Hortus Euergetis to the east. You can get here by following the last chain that is on Scylla. There is a puzzle to solve involving four Washer Octopuses. You have to keep an eye on the barrier surrounding them and make sure that it encloses all the flowers near it. Once the barrier closes in on all the flowers, switch to Symphony mode and use the elemental skill button on the octopus to lock them. Repeat this step for the other three octopuses. You will know you are doing it correctly when the music note on top of the octopuses changes to a resting note. A short cutscene will play as well, after which you can get to the tower and break the chain
