Yae Miko has quickly risen up the meta ranks ever since Dendro was released in Version 3.0. Yoimiya on the other hand has always had bad luck when it came to her banners- since she was always paired with highly desirable units like the Archons. This is one of the few times Yoimiya might have a decent chance of getting pulled due to players finally warming up to her true value in the game..
The first half of Version 3.7 features simultaneous reruns of Yae Miko and Yoimiya and though Yae Miko is a certified top-of-the-meta unit in the current era of the game, Yoimiya isn’t that far behind. She may not be an S-Tier Pyro DPS like Hu Tao but she’s certainly more convenient to use and is only second in terms of strongest single-target DPS in the game after Hu Tao. In this article, we’ll break down which unit might be best suited for your account and playstyle so that you can choose who to pull for in the current banner.
Yae Miko vs Yoimiya in Genshin Impact 3.7
Yae Miko is a very powerful Electro DPS or sub-DPS in her own right but when paired with Dendro, she rises to the top of the meta- even surpassing the recent, Dendro-dedicated Electro DPS unit Cyno. She can function as an Electro driver, DPS or sub-DPS in Quicken teams and because of her rise in popularity, the only demand for her in the current player base is for her place in Dendro comps.
Yae Miko is easy to use and very powerful at her job. And this is a feature she shares with Yoimiya- though with slight changes in gameplay. Yae Miko’s damage doesn’t require her to be on-field. The best and majority of her kit unloads damage from off-field which means you can use your other on-field DPS units to accompany Yae Miko’s electro turrets. Yoimiya on the other hand is perhaps the easiest ranged on-field single-target DPS in the game- and in terms of damage, she’s only second to Hu Tao which is still a lot.
Unlike Hu Tao, Yoimiya doesn’t need you to learn animation cancelling, jump cancelling or dash cancelling. Yoimiya has been nicknamed the Boss-killer by casual players who don’t want to learn the bosses’ attack patterns and just shoot away from a safe distance with a shield on for safety’s sake. This makes killing any boss in the game easy as it doesn’t require much skill or effort.
Though Yae Miko is currently more popular due to the Dendro meta, before Dendro’s release, Yoimiya would’ve been the popular girl due to the dominance of Vaporize- the original strongest reaction in the game. Paired with units like Xingqiu or Yelan or even both, Yoimiya would’ve been an unstoppable machine gun in single-target scenarios.
If you’re someone who follows the trends and likes the potential and power of Dendro comps then Yae Miko is the one for you. If you’re someone who still enjoys the original damage showcases with Vaporize and still want to keep using your well-built Hydro and Pyro units then Yoimiya is your girl. No matter who you pick- know that you’re still getting an S-Tier DPS unit regardless.
