It can be hard for someone who is just getting into Beast of Reincarnation to decide which skills to use skill points on. Both Emma and Koo come with a lot of skills that you can unlock, but not all of them are worthwhile. Allocation of the right skills will make exploration easy and survivable, and give an edge during boss fights. In this guide, we’ll tell you the best early skills to unlock first.
Top 6 skills to get first
As you continue playing Beast of Reincarnation, you will get access to many skill upgrades for both Emma and Koo. There are several skill trees available to choose from, and due to this, you may get confused with all these options. The skill tree itself is broken down into several categories. On the very top, there are Blade Arts for Emma and Bloom Arts for Koo. All the new skills that you unlock in these branches are permanent and cannot be changed.
Best Skills for Emma
Emma gains additional Blade Arts naturally as you continue the story, so the top section of her tree keeps expanding over time. For your early skill points, these abilities are the most useful.
Shakuyaku
This is one of the first good investments as well. This will allow you to fight against tougher opponents much more quickly rather than having to use basic attacks all the time. Since it’s also required for several powerful skills later in the tree, unlocking it early is a smart choice.
Helm Splitter
Helm Splitter is one of Emma’s most effective early-game moves. With Helm Splitter unlocked, all you need to do is press and hold the attack button when in the air to dive into the ground with a devastating area attack.
The attack does significant damage, generates massive staggering and is capable of hitting multiple enemies simultaneously. This move becomes particularly effective when the enemies surround you. It is possible to grapple onto a flower, float a little bit and then attack directly in the middle of the enemies. When Helm Splitter is upgraded, its attack radius becomes larger, allowing you to hit more enemies.
Roll
A successful parry replenishes resources for Koo and staggers his enemy, giving him much more reward than just dodging. At the same time, there are times when a player needs to create space, especially while dealing with powerful enemies who keep attacking him. This is when Roll comes into play. It gives you a quick escape option whenever you’re under heavy pressure.
Best Skills for Koo
For the most part, Koo helps Emma through his Bloom Arts. The best skills for Koo depend on your gaming style. If you want to use melee fighting, ranged fighting, elemental damage, or Blade Arts, there are skills by Koo that will improve your build. However, some skills are helpful for everyone.
Taunt
From here on, the enemies become very deadly, and there are even some that could beat up Emma with just a couple of attacks. Using Taunt allows you to divert the attention of the enemies towards Koo, thus giving you time to heal yourself, regroup, or attack the enemies from their rear side.
Status Effect Amp
For all those who love using elemental arrows, bolts, or other attacks that leave status effects on enemies, this skill is definitely for you. This skill, known as Status Effect Amp, will increase the rate at which enemies develop status effects on themselves, making them easy targets. It’s best used before attacking with weapons that inflict burn, shock, poison, or other status effects, allowing enemies to become vulnerable much faster.
Healing Bouquet
When you activate this skill for one of the six skill slots, Koo will sometimes bring Emma a flower bouquet that slowly heals her HP during battles. However, Healing Bouquet is a third-level skill in Koo’s Pounce skill tree, meaning it takes many skill points and attributes to unlock this skill.
Be warned that it won’t heal you immediately or restore your HP within several seconds. Instead, it provides a steady healing effect over time, which can make a huge difference during longer fights, especially against bosses. Thanks to this skill, you won’t need to pause and restore your HP with the help of items since you’re getting healed anyway. It allows you to keep concentrating on parries and skill usage.
