If you’ve been running around in circles in Disney Dreamlight Valley, “The Music’s On The Walls” quest finally breaks the seal—literally. This quest begins immediately after “A Ship of Gold” and takes you into a song-and-dance mystery brimming with loot, puzzles, and a little troublemaker kid who never matured.
Kicking Off the Quest

The moment you open the gate after completing the “A Ship of Gold” quest, “The Music’s On The Walls” gets triggered. Have a word with The Forgotten, and he will prompt you to chase a shining musical note. Pursuing it opens a memory that provides a clue on where the last few notes are being kept.
Make sure you pick up the silver key close to the mysterious shadow beforehand. Unlock the Captain’s Cabin chest using it and take a pirate treasure map. It takes you to a familiar location—Ariel’s island hideout.

Make your way on the raft close to Skull Rock Island to arrive there. Dig up treasure with your shovel once you get there and find a special object: the Pan Flute. It’s time now to gather all of the glowing musical notes found all over the valley.
Where to Find the Glowing Musical Notes

You already have one note from the first memory, so you’re tracking down five more. Here’s where they are:
- Forgotten Lands: Go to the Tree House. There will be a note fluttering around within—just run it down.
- Frosted Heights: Go into Olaf’s Secret Chamber and smash through the ice with your pickaxe to set the note free.
- Dream Castle: There is a note floating about within—just follow it and catch it.
- Dazzle Beach: Enter Ursula’s former haunt, the Cursed Cave, and fish out the glowing note.
- Skull Rock: Talk to Jade Skulls. They’ll present you with a riddle: “What are the stars in the sky, from wings does it fall?” The answer? Pixie Dust.
You’ve got all six musical notes and your Pan Flute ready. Now it’s time to bring the melody to life.
Playing the Melody

Return to Skull Rock, and there, you will discover the instrument setup and a music sheet. The sheet indicates two rows—left and right—aligning with the note positions. Align each note on the walls to the position indicated on the sheet and play the entire score.
But in a flash, the shadow throws a monkey wrench into the process and scrambles the notes once again.
Creating the Pixie Dust Lantern
To repair it, make a new Pixie Dust Lantern and put it on the vacant Rope Winch. Shining the light in between the two music walls will capture the shadow. Then, you’ll have to rearrange the musical notes again to bring back harmony.
A Wild Peter Pan Appears

After sorting out the notes, Peter Pan finally appears. Naturally, he challenges your adulthood right off and invites you to play a round of hide-and-seek. Typical Peter, he picks the blackest, spookiest place in the valley.
You can either pursue the trail of Pixie Dust or interview villagers for hints. But if you want to save time, go directly to the Dark Castle—Peter is hiding there.
Once you locate him, you will be able to construct Peter a home in the valley, formally inviting him to become a part of your fantasy community. A final conversation with The Forgotten wraps up “The Music’s On The Walls” quest.
