There are several big factions and a few small factions in Oblivion Remastered that you can join after completing certain side quests. Knights of the Thorn is a small faction that you can join in the process of the Wayward Knight quest. The quest involves helping the heir of Cheydinhal, Farwil, inside an Oblivion Gate that opened outside the city. The outcome of this quest will determine whether players become members of the Knights of the Thorn and the rewards that are specific to the quest.
How to Start The Wayward Knight Quest in Oblivion Remastered?

Players must finish the Dagon Shrine main quest to start The Wayward Knight quest.
To start the Wayward Knight quest in Oblivion Remastered, the players must visit the city of Cheydinhal, east of the Imperial City. If you have proceeded to its West Gate, talk about Cheydinhal with one of the guards inside the city, and it will update you regarding an Oblivion Gate opening somewhere outside the city. That will get the Wayward Knight quest started, and the players must seek out the Oblivion Gate.
Then you have to exit the city of Cheydinhal by its west gate and keep following the quest marker until you arrive at the Gate of Oblivion. You will encounter another guard there who will inform players that Farwil, son of Cheydinhal, has come into the gate to close it. So, players have to enter the gate and assist Farwil in closing the Gate of Oblivion.
Helping Farwil Close the Oblivion Gate Outside Cheydinhal

Once you go through the Oblivion Gate, keep travelling along the path and slaughter all enemies along the way. You notice a few Knights of the Thorn soldiers on the path; try looting them for whatever good items you can gather. Travel through the Bowels and into the Realm of Oblivion to meet up with Farwil. After the conversation with Farwil is finished, charge into the castle and slay all enemies along the path.
The players must keep Farwil alive in order to join the Knights of the Thorn faction and be rewarded with special weapons by Count Indarys. If he is killed, players must go get his ring to present to the count in order to complete the Wayward Knight quest in Oblivion Remastered.
When you enter the castle, just follow the significant quest line and try to eliminate all the hostiles prior to Farwil’s fight. It’s also required that players keep healing Farwil and his companion with restoration spells which have the “Heal on Touch/Target” property, e.g., Convalescence. When you reach the Sigillum Sanguis, approach the upper level through the bone-like extensions in the walls.
When you trigger the Sigil Stone at the top, the Oblivion Gate will close down, and everyone will teleport outside.
