Returnal, the highly-anticipated action-adventure game developed by Housemarque, will finally be available on PC via Steam on February 15th, 2023. Housemarque brand director Mikael Haveri on the PlayStation Blog confirmed the PC release date.
Returnal Releasing on PC
A trailer video for the PC release of Returnal was recently posted on YouTube, giving fans a look at the game’s stunning graphics and immersive gameplay. The trailer showcases Selene’s journey on Atropos and highlights the game’s support for the latest hardware, including ray-traced reflections and shadows, ultrawide and super ultrawide screens, and the DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers.
The trailer has been met with excitement and anticipation from fans, who can’t wait to experience the thrill of Returnal on PC when it releases on February 15th, 2023.
While the PC port for Returnal has been known for a while, details on the new features the game would receive for its PC release remained scarce. However, in the month since the initial release of the game’s Steam store listing, more information has been revealed.
Returnal PC System Requirements
The recommended specs for the game have also been adjusted, with the previously listed 32 GB of RAM now being lowered to just 16 GB. The game can be played at 1080p and 60fps with this amount of RAM, but for those looking to play at 4K, the recommended amount of RAM increases to 32 GB.
In addition to the RAM requirements, the game also recommends at least an Nvidia RTX 2070 Super or a Radeon RX 6700 XT as the video card for optimal performance. To achieve 4K graphics, an RTX 3080 or a Radeon RX 6800 XT is recommended.
To help improve the game’s graphics, both Nvidia’s DLSS and AMD’s FSR are supported, which allows players to increase the graphics without sacrificing the framerate. However, these features do require relatively newer hardware, so older graphics cards may need to stick to lower graphics settings.
The game also supports Ultrawide and Super Ultrawide screens, as well as full support for ray-traced reflections and shadows.
Moreover, the system requirement details are given below, as per the official blog.
Players can also expect superb 3D audio and support for the DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers. This means that players can experience the fully immersive experience of the game with the feel of the adaptive triggers, adding an extra layer of realism to the gameplay.
With its immersive gameplay, stunning graphics, and support for the latest hardware, players will be able to fully experience the thrill and excitement of the game.
Mark February 15th, 2023 on your calendars, as that’s the day when Returnal will be available on PC via Steam.
