Building a base on water is one of the coolest new features in Palworld 1.0. It lets you create floating homes, factories, or even massive ocean fortresses without being limited to land. While it does take some late-game materials and a special item to unlock, the process is simple once you know what you need. In this guide, we’ll tell you how to unlock the Aquatic Construction Kit, gather all the required materials, and build your very own floating base.

How to Build on Water in Palworld

The first thing you need is the Aquatic Construction Kit, which becomes available at Technology Level 66. To craft the kit, you’ll need:

  • Cement x200
  • Coralum Ingots x50
  • High-Quality Wooden Boards x100

How to Get High-Quality Wooden Boards

First of all, before you start crafting High-Quality Wooden Boards, you have to discover the recipe for the regular Wooden Boards within the Technology Tree. This will allow you to create High-Quality Wooden Boards. You will need:

  • Hardwood
  • Wood
  • High-Quality Cloth

Hardwood is easy to farm. Head to the new floating islands (-589, 234) and chop down the trees there. They drop Hardwood, and you can gather as much as you need.

How to Get Coralum Ingots

The only way to get Coralum Ingots is by crafting them in a Gigantic Furnace. To make 1 Corallium Ingot, you’ll need:

  • 5 Corallium Ore
  • 30 Ore
  • 20 Coal

To create Corallium Ingots, you first need to unlock and build the Gigantic Furnace from the Technology Tree. After you acquire all the necessary materials, you will be able to smelt them using the furnace.

One of the easiest methods to gather Coralum is to explore the ocean (-890, -1480). To do this, you need to build a saddle for your Pal that is able to swim, as you will require a water mount. Moreover, make sure to unlock the Advanced Fishing Rod at Technology level 45.

It would be useful to bring some Powerful Fishing Magnets with you to make this process easier. Then you should go to higher-level oceans and find floating debris to salvage materials. This is one of the best ways to obtain Coralum.

How to Get Cement

Cement is crafted using:

  • Stone
  • Bones
  • Aquatic Pal Fluids

The Aquatic Pal Fluids will be dropped by Water-type Pals, and hence, the best way to acquire this ingredient is by defeating or capturing these Pals. Also, you will require a Gigantic Furnace that becomes available at Technology Level 58.

How to Build a Base on Water

After inserting the Aquatic Construction Kit into the Key Items, you are ready to start the construction. Open the build menu, choose your Foundation, and drop it into any body of water that doesn’t lie beyond the borders of the map. Once the first foundation is in place, you can expand your base the exact same way you would if you were working on land. The Aquatic Construction Kit remains with you all through the process.

Finish Setting Up Your Base

Once you have built your foundations, all you need to do is add your Power Box and allow your Pals to construct the other parts of the buildings. Your floating base operates the same way a land base does; its build range and mechanics are the same. No matter whether you wish to build a small platform or a big floating fort, the process is exactly the same once you’ve unlocked the Aquatic Construction Kit.

Not placed on ground Error

“Not placed on ground” is displayed since foundations require firm ground beneath them. Although the water nearby seems shallow enough to build on. For those who are still in the early stages of the game, there is no need to waste time putting foundations all around the lake. It is best to construct buildings around the water and wait until you have acquired the Aquatic Construction Kit.
