The goals of Operation Shopping Hacks mission in MW4 DMZ involve sneaking into a mall, finding a secret security room, and supplying a lab door with K9 batteries for power. While doing so, you will have to hack five computers found inside the lab, and fight off the AI robots that will interfere with the mission progress. Here’s how to tackle each objective.
Hack the Laptop and Unlock Mall Security
Deploy on a story mission map and follow the location marker to go to the mall. Search for the computer system in the camp and interact with it twice to get a four-digit code. The code will be random for each playthrough, so you need to note it down.
You can also check the code again by accessing your map and clicking the locked door objective. Prior to getting into the underground parking, go to the outdoor area of the mall and pick up the night vision goggles. Press Right on the D-Pad to use them, or access your inventory, and press R3.
Go inside the mall and navigate through the halls. Use the stairs to access a secret security area, then unlock the doors using the four-digit code. Inside, click on the generator and finish off the little game by pressing Square at the right moment.
Explore the Security Annex
Once the generator is running, check the map marker to find the secret door behind the security office. Use the laptop inside to unlock the next task, which involves powering the laboratory door with the robot core. For that, proceed to the marker location to discover K9 dog-like robots. You need to defeat four of them and collect their K9 battery cores, but you must be careful, as the bots can self-destruct and leave behind batteries that cannot be used for the objective.
If you cannot find the K9 robots, leave the building and set off some alarms in the mall lobby, allowing more robots to flock to your position. Collect four batteries that you can use, and place them on the panel on the lab door. Wait for the door to open and eliminate the guards that emerge before entering the room.
Hack the Five Lab Computers
Inside the laboratory, look at the map markers that lead you to the laptops and interact with all five. After you have reached all of the laptops, a green network breach progress bar will show up on your screen.
Wait for the bar to progress but be ready to fight against AI enemies, who appear continuously and disable laptops. They will force you to eliminate them and reactivate or hack the affected computers again, one by one.
Keep defending the laptops and restoring their connections as the network breach proceeds. Then, wait for the lab’s servers to reboot before looting the vault and escaping to the rooftop exfil for completing the Shopping Hacks mission in DMZ.
