Rebirth is an important feature in NBA 2K27 that allows you to have an advantage while making a new character. Through Rebirth you unlock one of the most efficient processes to get upgraded to the max Overall you had previously achieved. Here is a guide on how you can unlock Rebirth, how different tiers work, and what advantages you get.
How Rebirth Works
A new player will start at 60 OVR. The games played allow the player to acquire MyPOINTS that enable the player to unlock a certain Overall limit while VC is used to improve attributes and raise the actual rating.
When the player uses the Rebirth option, they can create a new character that has the highest OVR unlocked on another build. The player has to start it like everybody else and use VC to improve it, but they can skip the MyPOINTS grind needed to unlock Overall levels up to that inherited maximum.
Unlocking Rebirth
In the first step, visit MyCOURT to locate the Rebirth holohelp located near the entrance or exit. Activate it to access all the Rebirth details from Ronnie 2K. Alternatively, you can view your MyCAREER missions and Unpluckable to keep tabs on your Rebirth objectives and progress.
To unlock Rebirth, you must build your player up to more than 90 OVR. This will require gathering enough MyPOINTS so that you’re able to reach the required Overall level. And in your journey to completing the Rebirth mission, you will also receive 10,000 VC.
How to Make a Rebirth Build
After unlocking Rebirth, go to the main menu and create a new player. Build the character as usual, and before ending the process, select the Rebirth option once it appears. The highest Rebirth tier you previously unlocked will be used in the new build.
For instance, if the builds you had before reached 91 OVR and 60 OVR, you can use a new Rebirth build with a maximum of 91. However, the actual rating of the new creation will be 60, so you will still need VC to upgrade it.
NBA 2K27 Rebirth Tiers
There are 4 different tiers of Rebirth, with each of them giving you more Badge Tokens when starting from a new Rebirth build.
Level 1: Silver
Obtaining a build with more than 90 OVR lets you unlock the Silver Rebirth. A new save gets 25% of the Badge Tokens, retains their previous Max OVR unlock, and gets 15% faster badge progression.
Level 2: Gold
Getting a build with over 95 OVR lets you unlock the Gold Rebirth. Consequently, you get 50% of the Badge Tokens while also retaining the previous Max OVR unlock and providing 15% faster badge progression.
Level 3: Hall of Fame
In order to unlock Hall of Fame Rebirth, you need to have at least two builds with over 95 OVR. The new Rebirth save gets 75% of the Badge Tokens, retains the previous Max OVR unlock, and offers 15% faster Badge progress.
Level 4: Legend
For this tier, you must have three different builds with more than 95 OVR. With the Legend Rebirth, the new save gets all Badge Tokens and keeps the previous max OVR unlocked.
What Rebirth Does and Doesn’t Give You
Rebirth should not be confused with getting a fully upgraded player for free. The newly created player builds have an initial OVR of 60 and will still require VC to improve the player’s attributes.
More precisely, Rebirth helps to save the MyPOINTS grind needed to reach new Overall levels. Also, the players receive certain badge tokens for their new build depending on the players’ unlocked tier.
While the badges progress quicker after Rebirth, players still need to fulfill the attribute requirements and have available Badge Tokens.
When Should You Use Rebirth?
If you are dissatisfied with your initial build and have not put in a significant investment in VC, it may be better for you to start over instead of using Rebirth.
On the other hand, if you have almost completed your first Rebirth requirement, it might make sense for you to keep pushing until you achieve the overall need for your replacement build.
If your build is working great, progressing further will help you get better Rebirth tiers, so reaching a milestone of 95+ OVR will increase the value of the Badge Tokens, and hitting it with all your builds will unlock higher tiers.
