There is a new multiplayer mode added to MW3, and Cutthroat mode is perfect for players who like to engage in close combat. This is a 3v3v3 multiplayer mode, where there are three teams consisting of three players who have to fight to survive. This mode is similar to Gunfight, where the last team standing wins. There are a few more extra features added to the mode. Each player will get only one life, and there is a possibility of adding revival. This mode is available across all 16 maps during launch, and will also feature custom loadouts and 3-way firefights.

There are only two criteria for winning in Cutthroat mode. Your team has to be the last team to survive, or be the first team who can secure the overtime flag during the match. There is a new flag feature in Cutthroat where you have to capture a moving flag instead. This can make the game all the more challenging, as not only you have to evade enemy players, you also have to find the flag to end the match. With the help of custom loadouts, you can pick how you wish to play the game and win. Also, the spawn points for each team will be randomized each match, and this will further bring in a challenging aspect to Cutthroat mode.
