Modern Warfare 2 Ghost Stuck Near Helicopter Crash Site Bug in Kill or Capture Mission Fix

Modern Warfare 2 did not have the smoothest of launches in COD’s return to the Steam client. As soon as the game launched, players, including us, faced the download problem and connection timed-out error on Steam. While that issue was brief and corrected itself within an hour. The first mission of the game, where the objective is to extract a target, has been bugged by many players. There are a few different types of bugs from the Stay with Your Squad Objective bug, Modern Warfare 2 ghost stuck near the helicopter crash site, and the game crashing for many players. If you have encountered a bug where Ghost is stuck, here is what you need to do.

Fix Modern Warfare 2 Ghost Stuck Near Helicopter Crash Site Bug

With Ghost stuck near the helicopter, there is no way to progress the Kill or Capture mission. Ghost is the leader of the party, and he must move in order for the mission to progress to its objective. If you have run into the issue, the first course of action should restart the mission from the last checkpoint. If that fails, restart the entire mission. This has helped most players solve the problem, but if that fails, there are some other things you can do.

Some players have reported that if they stay close to Ghost they can avoid most of the bugs in the game. And at the start of the game, almost all of the bugs are with Ghost, where he simply does not move forward, bringing the entire mission to a standstill. So, stay close to Ghost as much as possible and you should be able to avoid the bug.

That’s all we have in this guide, we will update the post if the devs address the issue or if there are more effective fixes. Until then, check out the game category for more guides and tips on how to play the game.
