How to Shade Coverages in Madden 22
In order to shade coverages in Madden 22, go through the following steps:
1. Once the offense breaks the huddle, you will need to press the Y/Triangle button to open up the defensive adjustments.
2. Then click on the right stick and pick the direction shade you want to use.
Flick down shades > To play Underneath coverage
Flick up shades > To play Overtop coverage
Flick to the left shades > To guard the Inside
Flick to the right shades > To guard the Outside
If you will guess wrongly on which side you want to shade, you probably will lose the large gains. So, always use it when you’re completely confident what your opponent player is going to do on offense.
It is important to note that you can shade only one side at a time. So, you cannot shade outside as well as over the top.
