Ruiner location
You won’t have to hunt around for the Ruiner, as he will charge at you while you try to cross the Fitzroy’s Gorge bridge. You might encounter this boss in the following locations as well
- Lower and Upper Calrath
- Bramis Castle
Ruiner Fight Preparation
The Ruiner deals mostly fire and ignite damage, so you can protect yourself with Burn Resistance Balms and Burn Cure. Imbedding your weapon with frostbite, bleed, holy, poison, and smite salts will work quickly to reduce the Ruiner’s health
Ruiner Fight Guide
- Ruiner doesn’t have a large skillset, so his moves are quite predictable
- His weapons are embedded with fire, and can cause ignite debuff too
- The Ruiner has an axe and shield as his weapon and defense. He mostly deals melee damage
- It is best to avoid hitting his shield or trying to break it, as it is nearly impenetrable
- His main attacks involve his axe. Each time he takes a swing, he will pause for a bit
- You can take this time to dodge and roll behind him to hit him
- If the Ruiner slams his ax to the ground, it will cause a row of explosive fire to erupt towards your direction
- He might also stomp his feet. If you see him do that, get far away as several pools of lava will randomly appear around the area.
- Sometimes he will take several consecutive swings, so wait for his swing animation to get over before you roll behind him for a hit
- This boss can be quickly defeated with timely dodges and rolls to his back for a hit
