You should only find Spike if you are nearing the endgame, as the ensuing fight will be very difficult. Head over to sector A20 with two squads of soldiers flanking the fort on either side. This will stall the process and stop the President from getting killed. The fort’s starting area can be cleared by stealth attacks, so as not to alert the other soldiers. After that, send one team to the west and the other to the east. Your western squad should have many snipers to tackle the enemies here.

The eastern squad should distract Spike and his team away from the President, but can also be brought into battle in the west. Defeat Spike and his guards, but don’t kill him. To recruit him, pick the following dialogs

  • You were a merc like us, Spike
  • What if we hire you?

If you choose any other dialogue, it will lead to his imprisonment or influence loss. If all works out well, Spike will join your team as a free merc.
