You will need enchantments to use on Kratos’s armor to help you get added boosts while in battle. You can easily acquire Enchantments by defeating enemies and getting them as drops, or scavenging through chests that you will find along the way. If you are in a pinch and are looking for a specific enchantment type, you can pay a visit to Brok and Sindri to buy enchantments using Hacksilver and Enchanted Dust.
There are various types of Enchantments that you can purchase or get, and they are marked by the various colors of the gems. There are green, blue, purple, and gold gems, and they denote various rarities. Green Enchantments are common gems, Blue gems are rare, Purple enchantments are legendary, while Gold ones are epic.
Once you have the necessary Enchantments, you can equip them on Kratos to get the added perks. You should first have armor that supports enchantment slots, but most God of War armor already have them. The higher rarity of the armor is or the more you upgrade an armor piece, the more slots it will provide. After equipping your choice of armor, press the Options button and select the Armor tab. You can see all your armor here. Select the armor piece you wish to equip Enchantments, and then press the square button. This will take you to the Sockets menu, where you can select your choice of Enchantments to place on that particular armor piece. You can also remove, swap, or change Enchantments to other armor pieces under this menu.

Thanks for the guide, but this is not true. You can also slot enchantments into the Amulet…This is what has been so confusing. I see articles that talk about only the armor and then ones that talk only about the Amulet.
