Modern Warfare 2’s Gunsmith system lets you unlock new weapons by leveling up your existing weapons. But some weapons can only be unlocked by ranking up in your progression. The Sniper guns are something you will get way later in the game, and cannot be unlocked using the weapon platform system in the Gunsmith. In this guide, we will see how to unlock snipers in Modern Warfare 2.
How to Unlock Snipers in Modern Warfare 2
If you wish to unlock Sniper weapons, you need to progress through the game to unlock them. Here we will see what are the requirements to unlock Snipers in Modern Warfare 2.
The snipers you can currently unlock in Modern Warfare 2 Beta are the Signal 50, the Lockwood MK2, and the LM-S Marksman Rifle. For the Signal 50 and the Lockwood MK2, the only way you can unlock them is by progressing through the game and ranking up. You cannot get them through weapon progression, so you have to work your way up a bit to get the two guns. For the Signal 50, you need to reach rank 20 or 21 to unlock it, and for the Lockwood MK2, you need to reach rank 23. The LM-S Marksman Rifle can be attained through weapon progression. To get this weapon, you should first unlock the Lachmann 762. Once you get the Lachmann 762, you have to keep leveling it up till it reaches level 17. You can now unlock the LM-S. Once you have all three snipers, you can use them in matches.
