The other form of racing available in Star Wars: Galactic Racer is Pod Racing, which is one of the quickest and most thrilling forms of racing in the game. But you cannot access the Pod Racers right from the start of the game. First, you have to complete Act 2 by fulfilling Sebulba’s racing memories.  Later in Act 3, you can unlock more Pod Racing events and get your own Pod Racer.

How to Unlock Pod Racing

The Pod Racing option unlocks after reaching Act 2 in Star Wars: Galactic Racer. It is not possible to unlock it right at the beginning of the game since pod racers are significantly faster and behave differently from land speeders and motorcycles.

After unlocking the second act, find Sebulba and talk to him. He will give you the Tales of Pod Racing mission where you will follow the recollections of the races that he took part in before. The first one will be Memories of Mos Espa. Your aim will be to win the race and unlock the next one called Legends of Speed on Lantana. Continue winning these races to progress through Sebulba’s memories and unlock more Pod Racing content.

Race Through Sebulba’s Memories

Sebulba’s Pod Racing missions are not limited to a bunch of races only. Each mission allows you to know something more about Sebulba’s history and what happened when he was racing. The best part of these missions is the fact that you have a chance to race in Sebulba’s Pod Racer.

However, all other racers will consider you as any other racer and there won’t be any special dialogue during the races. These flashback races are the first way to experience Pod Racing during the campaign.

Unlocking More Pod Racing in Act 3

More Pod Racing information will be available when you move to Act 3. The act is different from those that involve Sebulba’s flashback races and relates to the storyline. After you beat Kestar in the last race of Act 2, it will be revealed to you that he has improved his Pod Racer with Sebulba’s one. Moreover, he painted it in a new white and gold scheme and it became faster.

In Act 3, your task will be training and upgrading your Pod Racer to be able to compete with Kestar. To start Act 3, look for Hibby, who is located near Sebulba. She is ready to serve as your mechanic, while Sebulba will serve as your mentor.

Get Your First Pod Racer

Upon initiating the Act 3 Pod Racing content, you will be taken to Tatooine, where you will visit a garage which has an old Pod Racer of Sebulba. You will participate in a test drive called Hunk of Junk, which is a great joke based on the movie Star Wars: A New Hope, and the Pod Racer does not disappoint.

The old Pod Racer can be tricky to control. It tends to drift towards one side, and the engines tend to overheat very quickly. You will have to upgrade its performance and make it suitable for racing. Upon successfully completing the test drive on Tatooine, the Pod Racing races will start appearing on the map.

How Pod Racing Works in the Campaign

With the Pod Racer unlocked in Act 3, there will be further Pod Racing competitions around the map that you can take part in. You can do these at any time, and you don’t have to worry about them if you just want to carry on with the main story quest.

Thus, if you wish to unlock Pod Racing in Star Wars: Galactic Racer, then you must get to Act 2 and complete the races in Sebulba’s Tales of Pod Racing. More Pod Racing content becomes available in Act 3, where Hibby helps you prepare your own Pod Racer and train for the races against Kestar.
