Hatalis is one of the bosses in Palworld. It not only serves as a good fighter but it is a great Pal which can be ridden by the players due to its great abilities and partner skill. In this guide, we’ll tell you how to summon Hatalis, the best strategy to defeat it, the rewards you can earn, and how to breed your own Hatalis once you’ve captured it.

Hartalis in Palworld 1.0

The partner skill of Hatalis, Sacred Barrier, allows you to use it as a riding mount. While you’re using it as a mount, you have the ability to perform three jumps, allowing you to climb up to high ground much easily and roam around on the map freely. Hatalis will require a saddle for you to ride it, known as Hatalis Saddle. To unlock this item, you will need Technology Level 65. You’ll need the following materials:

  • Leather ×60
  • Paldium Fragments ×200
  • High Quality Cloth ×48
  • Coralum Ingots ×48

After you have created the saddle, you will be able to call Hatalis for riding any time it joins your party.

As a Pal, Hatalis is perfect for your base because of its high-level job skills. The fact that Hatalis has Level 7 Gathering means that it can collect crops from your farm fields in a blink of an eye. Also, it comes with Level 7 Lumbering. That means Hatalis can cut down trees and gather lots of Wood and Fiber from them in no time. Thus, Hatalis is an excellent choice if you want your Pal to work really fast.

How to Summon Hartalis

To summon Hartalis, you will have to get Hartalis Slab first. The best and most effective way of getting them is through the use of Pal Expedition Station, so remember to unlock and build it first. When the Expedition Station is available, you will find various expedition levels. Some of them are of High Risk level, so you should be aware of it before sending your Pals there. In the right side of the expedition screen, you will find a list of rewards. Locate the Hartalis Slab in the list.

Before sending the Pals on the expedition, use Auto Assign feature. Higher-level Pals, especially 4-Star Pals, have much higher Firepower, and upgrading their stats increases it even more. Make sure that your Firepower reaches more than 100%. After you finish the expedition, get your rewards. Hopefully, you will get a Hartalis Slab. You will need 4 Fragments in total.

Once you collect all the Hartalis Slab, craft the necessary summoning item at any crafting station. It is required that you must have at least Level 70 unlocked in order to unlock this recipe. After you start its construction, make sure to send your Pal with great Handiwork skill to finish it faster.

Then unlock the Summoning Altar, which unlocks at Technology Level 33. Build it on a firm platform, but do not build it near your base since the boss would be able to destroy it. Instead, build it in an open space marked by red summoning area.

How to Beat Hartalis

For this strategy, you’ll mainly need:

  • Helzephyr Lux for Phase 1
  • Frostallion Noct for Phase 2
  • Orserk for strong Electric damage
  • Shadowbeak for strong Dark damage

To get maximum protection, use the Hexolite Helmet and the Lightweight Hexolite Armor. In order to deal more damage, equip the Attack Pendant. You should also equip the new Triple Jump Boots, as they make it much easier to move around the battlefield, dodge attacks, and reach higher areas quickly.

First Phase

Since Hatalis has weakness to Electric-type in the first phase, this is the perfect opportunity to use the best Electric-type Pals. A good choice would be Helzephyr Lux because you get Electric-type weapon damage after mounting him, meaning that you can now use your weapons to do more damage.

It is important to put two Palbox Control Devices at opposite positions of your base before starting the mission. You should also build a few stones for foundation and walls to provide you with a safe place to hide when switching Pals.

Hatalis mainly uses Water attacks and powerful area-of-effect (AoE) attacks, so don’t let all of your Pals stay on the field for too long. Swap them out when needed to prevent them from getting knocked out. Use items such as the Legendary Rocket Launcher and Legendary Assault Rifle that will deal a lot of damage on the enemy.

Breaking the First Shield

Once Hatalis reaches 50% HP or so, she forms a barrier. The barrier needs to be broken down by either Electric or Fire type moves. In case the barrier is taken down before the time runs out, Hatalis will get stunned for a couple of seconds, giving you a chance to land some hits.  If it looks like your Pals won’t break the shield quickly enough, it’s a good idea to recall them so they don’t get wiped out.

Second Phase

Once Hatalis has been reduced to 1 HP, the battle moves to Phase 2 where Hatalis regenerates her HP and changes her elemental type while becoming vulnerable to Dark-type attacks.

In this phase, ride on the Frostallion Noct. The Partner Skill of this mount allows you to convert the damage output of your weapon into Dark damage. Shadowbeak is an excellent choice to use in this situation since it is a strong Dark-type Pal that can be easily captured when at a higher level. You should remain within range from Hatalis so that you could continue attacking her with your Dark Pals.

In the second phase, Hatalis creates another shield around herself. In this phase, you have to use attacks of the Dark type in order to remove her shield. After that, Hatalis will be stunned.

Final Attack

When Hatalis reaches 1 HP again, she’ll move to the center of the arena and prepare a massive explosion. This attack destroys almost everything around it except solid structures and the large rock in the arena. This is why building stone walls earlier is so useful. Hide behind them while recalling your Pals until the attack finishes. Once the explosion is over, simply fire one more shot to finish the raid.

After defeating Hatalis, you’ll receive a Hatalis Egg, giving you the chance to hatch the new Pal. You can also obtain a Hatalis Ultra Slab, which lets you challenge the much stronger Ultra version of the raid boss.

How to Breed Hatalis

If you have your own Hatalis, you can make a new one using two Hatalis by placing them inside a Breeding Farm. In some time, the two Hatalis will give birth to a Hatalis Egg. After getting the egg, you just need to put it inside the Egg Incubator, and a new Hatalis will be born after hatching the egg.
