How to Get Hardwood
Hardwood is an important material you’ll use for crafting weapons, ship parts, and a lot of other useful items in Windrose. You can get it in the Foothills biome by chopping down Divi-divi trees with a copper axe or a better axe. These trees are a bit different from regular ones, so once you spot them, you’ll know you’re in the right place. This area is a bit harder to reach early on, so expect to do some exploring before you get there.
Hardwood can come from a few different sources in Windrose, so you’re not limited to just chopping trees. The most reliable way is by harvesting Divi-divi trees and logs. Depending on the type, you can get anywhere from 1 to 14 Hardwood, and these usually have a guaranteed drop, making them your best farming option.
You can also find Hardwood in certain containers. Things like British captain storage or material crates may drop around 10 to 14 Hardwood, but the chance isn’t guaranteed; it’s roughly between 25% and 30%, so you might not always get it.
There are also special containers and trade goods that always give Hardwood. Some will give you around 20, while others can provide up to 50 in one go, making them a great bonus if you come across them.
